Ouija board

I'm sure when we are kids during the old days (70's and 80's), there are many things that seems stupid to do but kids just want to try it out anyway. This is what happened to a bunch of school kids who played the ouija board. No, its not a typo, but its a kind of board game with letters and alphabets and players invite souls to communicate with them via the board. Usually, a coin will be placed on the board, and players will touch the coin/cup at the same time and let the spirit drag the item around, one alphabet at a time.

This story happened in a small school in Kedah back in the 90's and the story was passed down by one of the actual girls playing it.

This started when a group of girls decided to play something else apart from the usual rope jump and "batu sambut", which is a game where players throw and catch stones in an endless cycle. They drew big alphabets and numbers on a manila board including the important word "yes" and "no". After school, at around 6.30pm, they will stay back a while and start playing the ouija board. The girls started with a total of 5 person. To start things off, they used a coin and together, they will place their index finger on the coin. By chanting over and over again for a spirit wondering around to communicate with them, they finally managed to pull "something" in. The girls could feel the coin moving around slowly in a weird direction, and none of them were actually pushing the coin. One of them asked if the spirit was a friendly one, and they got the "yes" reply. After that, each person took turns asking the spirit questions. Nothing unusual happened after that, and they told the spirit to return to where it was previously. After that, they went back, feeling excited and eager to play again.

The following week, the same group of girls stayed back after school again. Again, they chanted, inviting spirits to the game. The same spirit returned to communicate more with them. This time, one of the girls suddenly quit as she realized she has to get back early that day.

The next morning in class, that particular girl who went back early suddenly scream hysterically. Later, her eyes turned red and her head was stiff as if somebody was squeezing her neck. Everyone was shocked and tried to calm her down but she kept on screaming and bit her fingers wildly. The teacher immediately pulled her hand from her mouth and called the ambulance and she was sent to the hospital. During the whole journey, she kept on screaming and tried to bite her own fingers.

Teachers immediately questioned all the students and found out their ouija board game. The rest were given stern warning and other students were also warned not to play that game ever again. They later found out the location of the classroom they were playing in was once a Japanese prison. It must have been one of the prisoner's soul which communicated with them, and they said the prisoners have nothing to eat and some even chewed on their own fingers in order to survive. The girl who was attacked were not so lucky as she chewed part of her index fingers in the hospital.

Be warned....
