Getting to Kulim is fairly easy.
If you are coming from the Northern or Southern region by public transportation, stop at the Butterworth bus station, which is just beside the ferry service to Penang. From there, hop onto the number 506 bus which takes you directly to Kulim's bus station. It will take your approximately 40 minutes to reach Kulim.

For those who are driving, there is a highway that leads straight to Kulim. This is called the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway or better known as the BKE. It connects Kulim to Butterworth and driving to here takes around 15 minutes. If you are coming from the North (exit highway via Sungai Dua toll) or Penang, just follow the highway road straight on until you see a signboard that says Kulim. You will have to turn into the BKE when you reach a roundabout with traffic lights.

For those coming in from the South (exit via Juru toll), just follow the road straight until you meet the roundabout with traffic lights. Again, turn to the direction pointed out by the signboard to get into BKE and get yourself in Kulim town within 15 minutes or so.

Getting around in Kulim is pretty easy. There are busses and taxis to get you where you want to go. Taxis here do not use meter as a reference to charge you. So remember to ask for the price before hoping into one.
