It is estimated of over 300,000 residents in Kulim
by the year 2009.
Around the year 1990 till 1995, Kulim was well known for having lots of paddy fields. In
Malaysia, Kedah and Perlis are the leading states that produces
rice to sustain this country's demands and also for export
purposes. However, much have changed over the years and now,
only a few of those fields are left. I am not sure if they still
produce rice for commercial purpose.
